About

Tamara Lunardo is a collector of fine tattoos, an imbiber of cheap wine, and a singer of eclectic music. She works out her thoughts on life and faith at the blog Tamara Out Loud, occasionally with adult language, frequently with attempted humor, and hopefully with God’s blessing.

A part-time freelance editor and writer often syndicated at BlogHer and contributing monthly at A Deeper Story, she holds a BA in English and her five children, when they let her; she almost never holds her tongue.

Tamara lives in Florida with her husband, Bryan, who not only puts up with her insanity but brings her white wine when he sees it coming on.

  1. Tamara,

So glad to find another Christian who just talks like normal people and isn’t afraid to be real. I like the Anne Lamott sensitivity in your posts. Glad to find you. I two raised five kids — 3 step-kids and 2 of my own. But divorced and remarried. Love the Lord and the thing I want most is to serve him. I’m kind of a renegade, though, don’t buy in to a lot of the sticky, rigid doctrine spouted at most churches. Do go to church a lot, though (now that I think about it). I lean more to what I call Conscious Christianity, strongly influenced by the teachings of psychologist Carl Jung and Buddhist monk Thich Nhat Hahn. Yet a Christian still. Please pay a visit to my blog (url above). I’ll sure keep coming back here for insight and laughter. Love and Blessings, my sister! Becca.

    • You had me at Anne Lammot. Thank you, sister friend!

    • Thich Nhat Hahn is my hero! In a family of Christians that half disowned me when I converted, it’s really calming to know that there are some who realize the worth of great men and women for who they are and what they present regardless of their religious calling!

  2. love the pics but I agree with Herb – at least one with your beautiful smile would be nice.

  3. Okay, Mom- just for you, my smiling face. Notice that, once again, I have on a purple shirt and gray sweater. Maybe my faithful readers will take up a collection to by me a new outfit.

  4. Ah yes, thank you, dear daughter. Your eyes and your smile are so lovely.

  5. “buys her white wine when he sees it coming on.”

    this is rich imagery!

  6. insanity + wine + faith = huge headache for your husband :)

Great site, love it. What can I do to improve my own?

  9. Tamara…
Okay, there is some small world shit going on here. This is Casey (formerly Millwee) from church/your Mom’s dance school in Sarasota. I logged onto WordPress today and saw “Do people mispronounce your name” on Freshly Pressed. Interested, because even though you would THINK my name is pretty straightforward, it is mispronounced often, I clicked. Also, I needed a laugh. Anyways… it so happens that the random blog post that I clicked on belonged to someone that I KNOW. How weird is that?

Just spent quite a bit of time poking around… love your writing… I’m hooked. God Bless!

  10. I’m enjoying reading your entries…and your mom randomly stops by your blog…*chuckles* so does my mother-in-love! #winning
