My Super Big, Super Good News!

It began as a blog post, written through exhaustion and emotion, posted at four in the morning, hours past deadline. I didn’t even know if it was any good until I asked my husband, who read it in the morning before I woke up.

And as the comments poured in from people who got it and got it deeply– people who had lived through some shit and wondered where that left them, wondered who that left them– I realized, it was good. And it was going to do good.

But that’s how God works, isn’t it?

He lets circumstances stack so that there is no way you can make the mistake of taking credit. The good stuff comes from Him, and when we’re lucky, we get to be a part of it.

So this post written by a tardy, tired little blogger is going to become a book. Please join me in thanking God for his goodness, and read all about the What a Woman is Worth project here!

If you’d be interested in contributing an essay to this community project, please visit the submission page and contact me (tamaraoutloud @ gmail . com) with any questions. Thank you!

  4. Awesome stuff! This will be a great project and have a real impact on people. Lots of “walking wounded” out there that will be encouraged and healed as they read the stories….

  5. That’s awesome. Way to rock reality.

  6. Tamara, kudos, you deserve it!

  7. Beyond thrilled! It’s amazing how something awful can be transforming, isn’t it? So excited for you! This will be an amazing compilation. Can’t wait to read it! ;-)

  9. Fab fab fab. I knew you moved and shook, but… ;)

  10. Always happy to hear about women having a platform for telling their stories.

Curious, but what will the book actually be about?

    (Jonathan/Civitas is great!)

    • It will be a community collection of essays with introductions by me. I’ll also be editing the whole thing. I think this line from the project summary says it best: “Specifically, the essays will explore ways in which women and girls are led into disbelieving their worth and offer messages that combat the devaluing of women and girls with godly truth.”

  11. Beyond excited! Fabulous! Can’t wait to read the final result. :)

  12. I’m so happy for you!!!

  13. Fantastic! I can’t wait to see it completed.

  14. That’s awesome. Congratulations. I don’t know if you’re looking for male voices for this project at all, but I would definitely be interested in contributing.

    • Thank you! You know I love your writing. Right now we’re going to focus on women’s essays, but if we get some kickass stuff from guys that we just can’t say no to… well, then we won’t say no to it. :)

  19. This is amazing, Tamara! Congrats!

  20. Isn’t this just so fitting? You of all people should be the one to weave these stories together into a comprehensive whole. As I said before, you have a gift to pervade into a life, rip up all the mess, and then come back over with the salve of grace. This is a gift of Holy Ghost, one that you use to very well. Blessings, joy, and excitement for you, friend!

  21. Way to go! I know you’re going to crush it.

  22. I am so excited for you and for this project, Tamara. May the Lord give you and every contributor wisdom and grace to express your/her heart that other women may be healed.

Congratulations, Tamara. The Lord bless and keep you. He will author this project–be sure of it.

  23. Woot! Woot! I cannot wait to read it (wiggling with aniticipatory excitement!)

  24. Tamara, that is incredible! I am writing a book on worth and identity right now. I believe this is THE message for such a time as this. I am so excited that this is all taking shape for you, and now it has real momentum on it as well. Be blessed! I think this project will bless and affect you even more than the millions of readers of the book. Watch out, because I think God is after you big time!

  25. This is awesome! Congrats! Looking forward to reading more about it (when I’m not at work), and possibly contributing to it.

  26. Congratulations, Tamara!!!! So excited for you — and for all He’s up to here…
